Kindernay Michal

kindernay

Born in 1978 in Hradci Králové, lives and works in Prague.

Michal Kindernay doesn’t object to a use of names such as „research“ and „science“ when it comes to his activity at an art platform. He, on the contrary, sometimes likes to feel like a scientist revealing fragile, but fundamental relationship between nature and technologies. He leaves instruments he creates to be controlled by surrounds (wind, noise, smog) which they are being exposed to. Aesthetic feeling of the artist is apparent in his audiovisual performances and installations. No text about Michal can lack a mention of his co-operation with Lenka Dolanová, Guy van Belle, Miloš Vojtěchovský, Lloyd Dunn, Petr Vrba… The co-operation in different forms is determining for his work.

Michal Kindernay is intermedia artist working with interactive connections of sound, image, and other inputs, in an environment of (not only) computer applications. His works include video performances, installations, sound and interactive projects often with ecological aspects. He is one of the founders of yo-yo non profit organization, curating in Školská 28 gallery and teaching in FAMU in Prague.
