Shalbayev Arystanbek was born in 1959 in Kyzyl Ascer, Kazakhstan, lives and works in Almaty
Member of the collective Kyzyl Traktor (“Red Tractor”) with Said Atabekov, Smaïl Bayaliev and Syrlybek Bekbotaev with whom he develops a critical discourse, Arystanbek Shalbayev willingly manipulates symbols of the constituent tradition in Kazakhstan’s history.
