Helen Hirsch is an independent curator, art historian and culture manager. Born in Sweden, she works and lives in Basel, Switzerland.
After being active in organizing and curating exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Basel, she was working as independent curator focussed on new forms of the intercultural dialogue in the contemporary art practice.

She initiates and realises projects with local experimental art scenes, which, due to geopolitical, national und cultural situations, are in a process of change and aiming to develop new art strategies for the future. Since November 2006, she has been working as artistic director at the Kunsthalle Palazzo, Liestal (Switzerland), and has been appointed recently director at the Kunstmuseum Thun (Switzerland).
