View of the exhibition, Stuttgart 2021

In 2020, the association Trafic d’Art launched a call for participation in the two cities in order to select 22 artists (12 from Strasbourg and 10 from Stuttgart) around the theme “the mountain”.
Following the three projects (Line: border or link carried out in 2013 and presented in 2014 in Strasbourg, Dresden and Stuttgart; Rheingold / Rhine Gold, created in 2015 and presented in 2016 in Stuttgart and in Strasbourg in 2017; Der Wald / the forest was created in 2017 and presented in 2018 in Stuttgart and in 2019 in Strasbourg), the project La montagne / Panoramen proposes once again an artistic look at our two countries through art, history, geopolitics, geology, mythology… Each artist was asked to create a work on the theme of the mountain. The historical, cultural and symbolic wealth of the Vosges and the Black Forest, as well as more distant mountains, were the sources of inspiration for the works.

The Strasbourg exhibition, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut, will host a “Rahmenprogramm” which will offer film screenings, lectures and readings related to the mountains, twinning and Franco-German relations.
