In the framework of the Arsmondo 2025 “Mediterranean” fesival by Opéra national du Rhin

Souad El Maysour Erosions, 2013-2019

“Mare Nostrum”, symbol of our roots and original cultures, is at the heart of common stories of love and hate. The Mediterranean, sea between the lands, is the tragic stage of confrontations, but also of the heroic epics of the people who live along its shores.

Artists from the surrounding countries question their own plural identity, inspired by extraordinary narratives. Others address the alarming state of our sea and the disruption of the vital balance of its ecosystems. Some artists highlight the migration flows and human aspirations, questioning the impact of these realities on our humanity.
