SYDORENKO VICTOR

Born in Taldykorgan (Kazakhstan) in 1953, Victor Sydenrenko is an artist, art theorist and public figure.

He graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Art and Industry (now Kharkiv National Academy of Design and Art). He is the founder of the Research Institute for Contemporary Art of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2001). In 2003, he represented Ukraine at the 50th Venice Biennale with his solo project Reeds of Time. In 2007, he co-curated the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale, and curated the 54th and 55th Venice Biennials (2011, 2013). He has participated in contemporary art exhibitions in Ukraine and in contemporary art galleries and museums in France, USA, Great Britain, Canada, Greece and other countries. He has had numerous solo exhibitions in the United States, France, Finland and other countries.
