Born on May 06, 1962 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Glib Viches is an artist, photographer and art theorist.
He graduated from the Moscow National Printing University in 1985. He graduated in 1995 from the Ukrainian Academy of Arts, Kyiv (Department of Theory and History of Art). Since 2017, he is an Honorary Member of the National Union of Photographers of Ukraine. Since 2008, he is a member of the international association “Sztuka Bez Granic” (Art without borders), Krakow, Poland. Since 1987, he is a member of the Union of Artists and Art Historians of Ukraine. Since 2014, he is a doctorate; the subject of his thesis is : “The New Wave in the visual arts in Ukraine from the 1980s to the early 1990s (socio-cultural aspect)”. Since 2003, he is a researcher at the Research Institute of Contemporary Art of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. He is the author of three monographic studies on Ukrainian art. Participant of numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ukraine and other countries: Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina… He was a participant of the Venice Biennale. He has received numerous prizes and awards.
